Mark Gornall
Mark’s journey in martial arts began at age 18, when a family friend introduced him to American Kempo and kickboxing. That spark quickly evolved into a deeper passion when he discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). After enrolling in his first BJJ academy at 19, he became immersed in the art and culture of Jiu-Jitsu. By the time he earned his blue belt in 2013, Mark knew this was more than a hobby—it was his path.
Since then, Mark has competed at the highest levels of the sport. Beginning in 2016, he entered major grappling events across the country and around the world, seeking out the toughest opponents and biggest stages to test himself. In 2018, he relocated to San Diego to train full-time at some of the best gyms in the world, surrounded by elite practitioners. He’s earned podium finishes at prestigious tournaments including NAGA, IBJJF, and Dream Sub-Only, and has represented at the ADCC Trials in the -99kg division. His most distinguished accomplishment to date: placing 3rd at the 2018 IBJJF No-Gi World Championships in the super-heavyweight division.
Mark currently holds the rank of Black Belt under Dylan Dearborn of Infinity BJJ in San Diego. Dylan is a 2nd degree black belt under Rodrigo Medeiros, a 6th degree black belt and multiple-time Pan American and Masters World Champion.
But Mark’s commitment to performance and wellness doesn’t stop at the mat. He became a certified personal trainer through the National Strength Professionals Association (NSPA) in 2009 and has been helping clients of all backgrounds reach their fitness goals ever since. In 2013, he earned his license in massage therapy through Fortis Institute in Towson, and he has since worked with athletes and individuals from all walks of life—combining hands-on bodywork with an in-depth understanding of movement, recovery, and performance optimization.
Whether you're looking to improve your BJJ, build strength, recover from injury, or simply become the best version of yourself—Mark brings over 15 years of experience, a passion for teaching, and a well-rounded approach to help you get there.
